| Tour to Kent |
The group enjoyed this varied interesting trip based in Canterbury where we had four nights at the Best Western Abbots Barton Hotel. As well as seeing the city itself we made several excursions [see letter below for most] and we were blessed with excellent guides and sunny weather for most of the time. Here is one of the thank you letters, which speaks eloquently for all of us: "Dear Anne and Alison Big thanks for a most enjoyable break in Kent. A very well balanced programme. It's hard to pick highlights but Penshurst, home of my schoolgirl hero, Sir Philip Sidney, was lovely, with Nicki an excellent Guide. The day in Canterbury was a good mixture - well managed cathedral and fun on the boats. My jury is out on the Turner Contemporary (recent Front Row Late discussion). It's growing on me. I felt Dover had done an imaginative job on the Dynamo tunnel. Walmer Gardens were an unexpected delight. My hotel room was comfortable, clean and quiet. Gary did an amazing job driving the coach through "impossible" spaces. Everything ran very smoothly thanks to your hard work and organisation. Members of the Group were very friendly and it was a good humoured, inclusive Group." |
